Description

There will be an Assistant Director of Compliance position available within the Olentangy Local School District for the 2023-24 school year. The Assistant Director of Compliance will lead district efforts to comply with applicable federal and state laws, and Board of Education policies.

 

Qualifications for the position include a graduate or professional degree in Educational Administration, Law, or a related field and successful experience as an educational leader. Alternatives to these qualifications as deemed appropriate by the superintendent.

 

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: knowledge of school operations and school leadership; knowledge of policies and practices relevant to public education systems; knowledge of current research, requirements, and methods related to federal and state laws that apply to the district, including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title IX and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1974, Civil Rights Act of 1964, as well as regulations and guidance provided by the US Department of Education, the Office for Civil Rights, FERPA, and related laws and policies; demonstrable record keeping, organization, and problem-solving skills; enthusiastic support of the district’s vision, mission, values, and strategic plan; ability to design and conduct legally compliant and understandable trainings on key legal and policy obligations; ability to create specific compliance programs; ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively in all relevant modes of communication; ability to design and facilitate professional learning opportunities and staff meetings; ability to demonstrate patient and productive interactions with others, including students, staff, parents and community members; and ability to demonstrate self-directed independent work, sound professional judgement, strong integrity and ethics; outstanding attendance and punctuality.
