Description

There will be multiple Educational Service Center (ESC) related services opportunities for the 2025-26 school year within Olentangy Schools. Qualified candidates will be employed through the ESC and must hold or be eligible to hold valid and appropriate licensure for each position with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.

 

Related services opportunities include, but is not limited to:

 

Behavior Specialist helps students learn subject matters and skills that will facilitate maximum learning experiences and contribute to their development as mature, capable and responsible adults; create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Contributes to the development of healthy, safe, and caring environment by understanding the emotional and social development of children. 

 

Dyslexia Specialist provides teacher training and observations to support certified staff by providing appropriate instruction for students with dyslexia while fulfilling the requirements for membership in the Academy of Orton-Gillingham or equivalent certification. Provides assessment and consultation for determining appropriate instruction for students with dyslexia.

 

Interpreter provides interpretive services to facilitate communications between students with hearing and/or communication disabilities and other individuals through oral and signed language. Strives to support a productive learning environment.

 

Occupational Therapist provides evaluations and therapeutic interventions to help students identified by an Intervention Assistance Team as having a disability achieve maximum benefit from the educational program. Encourages parental involvement.

 

Orton-Gillingham Tutor provides appropriate instruction for students with dyslexia while fulfilling the requirements for membership in the Academy of Orton-Gillingham or equivalent certification.

 

Physical Therapist provides therapeutic interventions to help students identified as having a disability achieve maximum benefit from the educational program. Encourages parental involvement.

 

School Psychologist provides psycho-educational assessments, program planning, intervention, and consultation services that promote mental health and facilitate students learning. Encourages parental involvement in decision-making activities.

 

Speech and Language Pathologist provides for the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of communication disorders to help students achieve maximum benefit from the educational programs. Encourages parental involvement.

 

Transition Coordinator serves as a school - community - industry liaison to develop, oversee and facilitate the achievement of desired post school outcomes for students with disabilities which could include the college admissions process, referrals to healthcare services/supports and supported or competitive employment.

 

Vision Specialist provides for the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of vision impairments to help students achieve maximum benefit from the educational program. Encourages parental involvement.

 

Essential functions: ensure the safety of students; prepare clear and timely lesson plans; demonstrate knowledge of subject matter; create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program; and, observe ethics of the teaching profession.
