ESC/OLSD Preschool Intervention Aide/ Assistant- Full Time: For the remainder of the 24-25 school year, there is a full-time preschool assistant/intervention aide opening at our Shanahan preschool location.  The  work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Mondays are for professional development, classroom preparation, child check screenings, and other duties as assigned. Students attend Tuesday through Friday for a morning and/or afternoon session(s).  
 
Qualified candidates will be employed through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO). This position starts at $18.21 per hour but prior experience can increase the hourly rate of pay and benefits offered.
 
 The staff in a preschool classroom includes one (1) full-time preschool teacher and one (1) assistant working as a teaching team to support up to 8 students with special education and 6 peer models. The teacher plans and implements the general preschool curriculum and has an intervention specialist license to provide specialized designed instruction to meet the IEP requirements. The assistant role is designed to support the teacher by assisting with the preparation of classroom lessons and materials, supporting student needs throughout the class period (i.e., bathroom/diapering needs, behavior supports, set-up for snack, instructional support, data collection, support the teacher's needs).  
 
Eligible candidates must submit an external online application in Applicant Tracking and complete an online Support Candidate Assessment. A letter of interest and current resume must also be uploaded within the Attachments section of the application.   If offered the position, the candidate must obtain an intervention aide permit through the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and have FBI/BCI background checks completed.

If so, the link will be titled “Do Not Reply” with the subject “Regarding your Olentangy Local Schools application”. Keep in mind that the assessment is a timed assessment, so please set aside approximately 45 minutes of uninterrupted time before you begin the process. Once the assessment is started, it must be completed.
